History
Our Journey To Certerra
We built Certerra by bringing together a network of strong regional competitors to create a leading national brand.

A Vision for a New Kind of Firm
RMA Companies originated in California in 1962 and over the next 50 years became an independently successful geotechnical and materials engineering firm based on deep expertise and local knowledge.
But the ambition didn’t stop there. We saw the opportunity to grow into highly resilient end markets driven by infrastructure spending. And to do this nationally by expanding geographically and adding specialty services in materials engineering and earth sciences. To make it happen we secured strategic investment and our journey to Certerra began.

Materially Better Together
We built Certerra by bringing together a network of strong regional competitors to create a leading national brand. Each company in the Certerra network brings decades of experience, unique capabilities, and long-standing relationships that have made each successful in its own right.
Together we create a Materially Better business driven by continued infrastructure investment and a team with breadth and depth of experience on a national scale.
This is Certerra’s story.
